The mission of an Accorderie is to combat poverty and social exclusion through the exchange of services and education through cooperation. It strengthens solidarity between people of different ages, genders, cultures and incomes.
The Accorderie is based on a simple, original principle: to enable local residents to get together and exchange services, based on their know-how, without any financial compensation.
Each member starts with a bank of 15 hours at his or her disposal. Transactions are compiled in each member’s bank – no tricks, no volunteering!
Example
Élise needs help to get to the grocery store. She asks Stéphane to drive her home after her shopping. Élise takes 15 minutes out of her time bank and sends it to Stéphane. Stéphane wants to learn how to cook vegan. He asks Grégory and together they spend 1 hour talking, exchanging recipes, finding ingredients, etc. Stéphane will take 1 hour of his time. Stéphane takes 1 hour from his bank and gives it to Grégory, and so on… More than 400 services are offered between our members, from housekeeping to guitar lessons to massage therapy, it’s all there!
