For over 25 years, the Saint-Lambert softball league for ages 40 and over has given Lambertans a chance to play a sport in a friendly atmosphere with players of the same calibre.
Our games are held at Parc Saint-Charles on Tuesday evenings, from 7 p.m. to 8:45 p.m. and on certain Thursdays. We have two umpires and we supply the T-shirts, bats, and new balls for each game, among other things. The season includes 24 games and is followed by playoffs in September. In 2024, membership cost $225, including the end-of-season party.
We change the teams each year (four teams of 11 players) to allow players to meet new teammates and have fun together. Importance is placed on having balanced teams and our games are played in a respectful atmosphere.
We usually have a few regular positions to fill each year and we always need reserves. It is worth noting that in 2024, we still had five players who had been here for more than 25 years, including 2 who have been here since the League was founded in 1995!
Since 2014, we have also had a day division called “The Crooners” (two teams). Their games are played on Monday and Wednesday mornings at 10 a.m., also at Parc Saint-Charles. And again, fun and camaraderie are what it’s all about, and everybody’s skills are respected.
We’re also very proud to have had a Women’s Division (2 teams) since 2023, playing at Parc Saint-Charles from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. every other Sunday.
